MOD to Disable the Handcontroller's Buzzer/Beeper
Mod Steps
This page describes how you can disable the buzzer/beeper on your handpad controller.
The approach is to ground the base of the transistor driving the buzzer.
Grounding it
will block any current from PIN39 of the PIC microncontroller from activating
the
transistor.
Grounding can be done by soldering a piece of wire from the base pin of the
transistor
to the ground line of the board.
Another option would be to put a switch instead of the wire so that you can
manually
turn on/off the buzzer while on the field.
Figure 1 below is an image of mod. Make sure the board patterns you see on
the image
is identical to one exactly you see on your own handcontroller. If this is not
the
same, you may have to locate the components yourself and determine the tap
points
based on the diagram below.
